Sharp 740U - Freezing Up - DVDfile.com forum for DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD

Any one else having a major problem with the Sharp 740U freezing up on their discs? So far i am having major problems with every one of my DVDs (Space 1999 Vol 3 alone freezes up every 35 seconds!) They all work fine in my Phillips.....

Of course it appears i am not alone in this. Check out all the negative posting on Circuit City's website about this model. I won this as a gift and have no way of returning to a store.....

Anyone know what Sharp's response has been?
