'The Insider' locks up and wont play

I am running a flawless copy of The Insider...no surface scratcehs and the film plays on other players....but I cant even get to the menu screen without locking up. The screen displays something like C:13:00 and just freezes. Once the freez occurs, no buttons on the remote will affect it. I am running it on a Sony DVPS330 if that has anything to do with it. Any ideas on how to fix or bypass this problem?

I've enjoyed this great movie on my Pioneer DVL-919 on several occasions, so it's not the disc (unless you got a "bum" copy).

Can you try your copy on ANOTHER DVD player to eliminate the disc as being defective even though "flawless" in appearance?

Peace.....

Wow, sounds like it is a compatibility issue with the disk and the player.

I'd exchange the copy just in case and try it again. If the second one glitches on your machine then it's most likely a definite hardware issue.

I agree with Flash.... If you can't exchange it easily, let me know and you can send me YOUR copy and I can send YOu my copy and we can see what happens.

I've done this with a friend of mine where his copy of Casino would NOT even spin up on his Onkyo DVD player, but MY copy played fine on his player and BOTH copies played fine on my player.

If intersted in this exchange, send me e-mail.

Peace......

Thanks for your guys' help. It really is a strange issue...not encountered with any other disc. Unfortunately, I can't really exchange it right now...I've had it for a year or so and just never really got around to addressing the problem until I saw this forum option. I will take it to my brother's home the next time I get the chance (prob. not til late July), just to make sure that it plays fine on his player (another Sony, which has worked fine with it before)....and if it does, I very well might contact you regarding the possible exchange tomdkat. I want to make sure that I have exhausted all other options first so as not to bother either of us with unnecessary legwork.

Thanks for the help.
