Sharky's Machine
My brother gave me this disc and I popped it into my Sony S550-D player and it keeps getting stuck! The disc whirs, the picture breaks up and then the player skips to some other part of the movie. I tried it a couple of times with the same results except the skips take you to different scenes--it doesn't alwasy go to the same scene every time. I tested the disc in my dvd player in my pc (sorry, don't know the specs) and it played fine.
I know it's a P&S disc! I'm still asking for help (unless it involves filing it in the trash!)... ![]() |

Did you wipe the disc clean? Have you tried it on another player? If he still has the receipt, can your brother possibly exchange it for a new copy?
Peace.....

I've never had a problem like this so it enver occurred to me to wipe the disc. I'll try that. I have a junk player in the basement--I can try it there too.
I remember when I bought the player the salesman (a good guy) was talking about the capabilities of certain laser pickups. Essentially a "good" laser might be too sensitive to imperfections in the disc that a lesser laser might have ignored. I'm not sure if that's salesman BS but it sounded good. Thanks for the advice! BTW awesome HT you got there. It'll piss my wife off something awful when I say "that's what I want"!! |
