Hellraiser (Tin Box): Laser Rot-Problem?

Hi!
I am new to the forum and unfortunately I have to start my
first posting with a problem.

In a German DVD-forum (dvdinside.de) someone wrote,
that Anchor Bay´s "Hellraiser"-DVDs from the Tin Box
have laser rot-problems, some problem with glue.
I tried to search this forum, but couldn´t find anything
about this.

Do you know anything about that, is it true?
Thanks in advance!

Regards from Germany,
SpecialEd

Also, here is a search result on threads with DVD Rot coverage. Many of the titles use "rot" in different tenses so if you did a search yourself like you mentioned, "Rot" doesn't pull up many threads.

If your disks has rot, you really almost have to troubelshoot it yourself, because even in the rot prone titles, it is a case by case basis. Hang on to your purchase reciept just in case you need to make an exchange at your store.

Real and not so real DVD-problems

Hi!
Thanks everyone for checking their own dvds!
The results you found are good to hear.
My own DVD is fine too. (Hopefully it will still be fine in the future.
The movie is banned in Germany and import is not that easy.)

Here in Germany there is now a big excitement about possible
DVD-problems. For example, many DVDs are sticky at the
edges - ist this normal or is maybe glue coming out from
between the two layers?
Many DVDs habe these "fogs" below the surface - is this
dangerous? Can they get wider and is that dangerous?

Another subject: it seems that digipacks can create problems.
The stuff they contain can evaporate and deposit on the
surface of the DVDs as a fog than can be cleaned with a
cloth - I did that today with my "Silence Of The Lambs" and
it seems fine now.

Do you have heard about these subjects, too, and what´s your
opinion on that?

Greets,

SpecialEd
