UHF Audio Problems?
There are two spots in the UHF DVD where sound seems to come from the rear speaker....however, on the disc the sound is supposed to be Dolby 2.0. I have one receiver that is strictly 2.0, and another that has surround sound. The two places on the disc where the sound is off is during the Spatula City spot, and when Stanley gets abducted (The abductor's voices are missing as is the knock at the door).
Has anyone else noticed this?

Sometimes Dolby 2.0 really means Dolby Pro-Logic which DOES have some surround activity. Does the DVD cover say anything about Dolby Pro-Logic or Dolby Surround vs Dolby Stereo?
Peace....

The Case for UHF says "ENGLISH: Stereo Surround"
Since I'm somewhat new to DVD, can you possibly give a resource of where to go to learn about the different audio options, (IE 5.1 Surround vs 2.0)? Thanks.

OK,
There is Stereo, which is 2 channel, left and right. Pro Logic, which takes a 2 channel stereo mix and turns it into a simulated surround mix and then Stereo Surround which is a 4 channel mix. Sometimes Stereo Surround is a simple remix of the 2 channel track. From there you get your 4.0's, 5.0's, 5.1's, 6.1's and 7.1's.. -Flash
