I bought Krippendorf's Tribe this weekend and it will only play FS. The aspect ration is supposed to be 1.85:1. I tried all of the settings on my Toshiba 3750... 4:3, 4:3LB and 16x9 and they all play FS (and before someone says that it's a Toshiba problem, it also does it on my PC using PowerDVD and on a Compaq laptop here at work this morning. They all play it FS as well). I'm going to give them a call, but wanted to know if anyone else is running into this issue.

Well, for any of you interested in the title, don't bother. The packaging say 16x9 and so does the descriptions online for DVD purchase. After speaking to a very nice rep at Touchtone, she said that it was a 'misprint' and it has only been released in PS. Apparently, I wasn't the first person to inquire about the ratio problem and she took my info to forward to the higher ups to get it released in WS.

She said that a lot of people called up and ultimately complained that it was a misrepresented version on the packaging so I'll take that as a good sign. At least some people are complaining to them about PS releases.

I'm sad to hear that Disney is gonna start doing full-frame releases such as this

They've always been widescreen advocates, even back in laserdisc days with few exceptions.

From the sounds of the attached email response, I'm not going to see a WS version of the movie on DVD...
