Subtitle problem in The Fifth Element Superbit DVD.

I choose Spanish subtitles from the main menu.
Then the film starts and i find out that they are in english!.

I had to press the SUBTITLE button on my remore to put it in spanish.
Why is this?.

And btw i choose the DTS track first. (It might have influence for the problem)

Sounds like they goofed up they audio track/subtitle combos and probably reset something or forced English when you chose the dts audio track.

What kind of DVD Player are you using? Your player might have gotten confused as well.

I'll try that tonight and report back.

Peace....

Panasonic DVDRV20.

I checked back and it has nothing to do with the DTS track or the DD track.

You get English subtitles with EITHER audio track and have to use the sub-title button on your remote?

It sounds like a player "issue" and I'll let you know what I find out on my machine.

Peace.....

Ok dude-r... the problem is with your DVD player.

When I tried this on my MAIN player, my Pioneer DVL-919 and on my portable Pioneer PDV-LC10, I WAS able to get Spanish subtitles the FIRST try when using the Dolby Digital audio. When I would choose dts first, then I would get English subtitles first.

I think a more modern player would handle the dts "issue" properly, assuming it's not an authoring error.

Can someone with a Pioneer DV-440 or some other recent player (like a Toshiba SD-3570, or Panasonic RP062) try this as well?

I'll try to go to my mom's place and try this on her Pioneer DV-440 and I'll report my findings.

Peace.....

As I mentioned in the Memento Limited Edition thread, my Superbit 5th Element's English subtitles automatically come on if I select DTS. I believe (although it's been a while since I've experiemented) if I leave everything alone and simply play the movie, the subtitles are off.
