Cleaning

We've noticed that when we play DVD's that it sticks or just freezes all together, on almost all of our discs. I am thinking that our player might be dirty. What is a good cleaning system? or can I use the same cleaning thing I have for my CD player. Suggestions please, like brand name and where I can buy it and about how much you payed.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I remember reading various threads indicating cleaning the lens ,etc., was NOT needed since so much wind would get generated as the disc spins that any dust or other particles that you would think would collect would get blown away.

What DVD player make/model are you using and can you name some of your problem DVDs as well as brief descriptions of the problems?

There are various lens cleaners on the market and that might or might not help.

Also, you could try wiping the disc clean or even soaking it in a sudsy cleaning solution that might help your player play the disc easier.

Peace......

Well, It's a Slyvania DVL100B.

Some of the problem discs have been some of my Monty Python's Flying Circus discs, cant remember exactly which, but it will skip and a bit sound wise and picture wise and then just freeze. And the newest one is Simpsons Season 2 on the first disc, but I see some people are having the same problem we are.

Anyway tell me what you think.

Thanks.

Well, I'm glad things worked out for you. While I do understand wanting a fast answer to a question, I must ask that you do NOT start multiple threads on the SAME topic. Post once and be patient... Sometimes it takes a while for the person with the answer to your problem to find your thread...

Peace.....
