Pulp Fiction: CE Problems
I bought it from Wal-Mart and the first one I had was extremely loud and had notable scratches on the back.
I return it and now I get one that has the first disc a little loose with a little mark on the back of the center of the disc.... it isn't that big of a deal, but it still vibrates and makes a noticable noise. The inserts of course are also bent up which kind of pissed me off. Anyways, is this a common occurance to not be worried of and does anyone else have this problem? I have an Apex AD-1000 if anyone was wondering.. wanting to know if I should try for a third return back. I may do it just so I can not have the menu all bent up as it is now. |

I watched most of the set today. I noticed the same thing about the sound on the menus versus the supplements and the movie itself. The movie soundtrack is a bit subdued compared to the menus, but the supplements are mastered at a really, really low level...low enough to be somewhat annoying, IMHO. I don't have surround capability--just stereo, and the setting I watch movies at is high enough so that I can feel slight vibrations in the floor on a loud disc. With the volume cranked to this level, I can sit right near the speakers while the Pulp Fiction supplements are playing and they still sound pretty soft--like ordinary, moderate level TV sound.
I am used to sound levels like this for old, scratchy featurettes and trailers, but not for stuff that was mostly shot on video in the 1990's.
