Gremlins 1 / 2 Subtitles

This is more of a mild annoyance rather than a glitch, but when I played the new versions of Gremlins 1 & 2 last night the subtitles defaulted to English, and I had to manually switch them off via the remote...

Has anyone else noticed this is or is my Toshiba SD-210 just being odd?

Well, many disks have certain features via default. Auto subtitles would be an unusual default feature in my opinion, especially being the case that this isn't a foreign film.

Might have been a player fluke. At least it was remedied.

And since you had no problem switching them off, I really wouldn't call that a glitch.

Now if the subtitles couldn't be switched off, well, then that's definitely a glitch.

I think it definitely is a glitch if subtitles are enabled by default - 99% of the people buying this DVD will be listening to the English soundtrack with no need for distracting subtitles. The fact that you have to turn them off is an unnecessary pain in the butt, and should be reguarded as a glitch. On another note, many older Toshiba players turn subtitles on automatically when they should not be.
