Friends Scene Access Problems?

Scene access does not work for either Friends Season 1 or Season 2 collections. I cannot access the different episodes. I have to just play the dvd all the way through. I've tried the dvds in three players, two different sony and a jvc and run into the same exact problem. I even exchanged season 1 for another copy and still had the same problem. I was hoping very much that the problem with wouldn't exist with season 2 but it does. I haven't experienced this problem with any other dvds. Have other people had this problem with the Friends Season 1 & 2 dvds? Also, is there any hope for a solution to this annoying problem?

No problems on my Sony.

You may want to try asking in the Glitch forum.

Scully,

Can't help ya there, I didn't buy Friends., so I can't test on this end for you.

But if you have tried multiple copies and multiple players with each copy, and the problem still persists, then you've got a software issue and not a hardware issue.

At that point you can try contacting the studio for imput.

No probs on my Sony.

I know that by design the dvds don't allow chapter skipping while playing with the Play All option. I have no problems selecting inidivdual episodes from the episodes menu.

this shows that there is another problem with my Friends Season DVDs. the "episodes" selection only shows little clips like a preview of each episode. it does not show the whole episode, it only shows a little clip of the episode. . .

There are 2 options on the episode select screen. If you pick the coffee cup you get a short preveiw of the show. If you select the option then you get the entire episode from begining to end. If I remember right it says something about this on the bottom of the screen.

You can't use the chapter skip if you select play all. It's annoying but not to bad of a problem

OK, so sounds like there is a workaround.

So more of an inconvience than anything.

Thanks, LemJe! That does indeed work.
I thought the only selection you could make on the Episodes screen was the coffee cup. I didn't realize the name of the episode was another selection. at the bottom of that screen it just says "Click on the coffee cup to view an episode preview."
I'm happy that the full seasons of Friends are finally being released, but I'm very disappointed with the usability.
Also, did anyone else notice? The first pilot episode was left out. I've seen it a couple times in syndication. Monica, Joey and Chandler are moving into the apartments and the Coffee House isn't a Coffee house yet (It's a bar with pool tables that is closing down).

That is actually an episode from the third or fourth season (I think) that flashed back to just before the pilot episode. Janice asked everyone if they had ever considered sleeping with one another, which prompted the reminiscence of when they all first met (sans Rachel).

I know, I'm a geek.

The flashback episode from Season 3 must be the one I'm thinking of. I just don't remember it being a flashback type of episode.
