Blade II

Oh gee, my first-ever bad DVD!

I have a Pioneer DV-626D, and the player freezes up and slightly pixellates somewhere around 56:00 - 56:20. I don't have access to another player, so I can't immediately check if the problem happens there. I hope this doesn't mean my player is going on the fritz.

Going to exchange the disc tomorrow...

Just checked out my copy at that spot and..nyet problemski...

At least it does not appear to be a pressing problem in all copies.

I have had a couple of defects in my time, though...

I had a similar problem with mine. On Chapter 12 the disc would pixilate and lock up. Everything worked fine but chapter 12. I had to return it 3 times before I got a copy that worked right. The Best Buy here said that they had a lot of returns with the same problem last week.

Yep, that's where it occurs with mine, about a minute into the chapter. I exchanged it at Best Buy today and the replacement has the same thing to a lesser extent. I also sent a message to New Line via their DVD technical support website.

I used a Toshiba SD 2200 and an older Panasonic player. It happened on both. The second disc I got played fine on the Panasonic but not the Toshiba.

Well, my third copy of the movie seems to run OK at the spot where I had trouble with the first two copies. However, the layer change sure is obtrusive. At least I think it's the layer change.

Could those of you who have this movie verify that the layer change on your copies is somewhere around 61:20?

Thanks!

I just rented Blade II over the weekend, and it played perfectly fine in my Panasonic RV-32K. Only noticeable problem I saw was a slight delay when playing the 80+ minute featurette called the Blood Pact. When I did the branching option, there was once a 10-second delay to go from one of the branched featurette back to the main featurette.

Other than that, no problems here. The movie disc played perfectly.

I have a Pioneer DVL-700 and it had terrible audio dropouts and pixilation at the 60-61 minute mark.

On continuous playing it progressively got worse!

Finally put it under a good bright light and carefully removed all lint. It played perfectly...
