Pulp Fiction SE glitches
(Hi, I looked back in the history of the forum and didn't see this problem addressed so I'm starting a new thread. My apologies if I missed a previous topic.)
My problem is with Pulp Fiction Disc 2 in my Toshiba DVD player. (I don't remember the specific model number, but it's had problems with discs before - it's the 2 disc changer model. Might be the SD-2200) Some of the supplements play weird. The first on the list (Pulp Fiction: The Facts, I believe) plays fine. I tried two others tho before I got frustrated and quit trying. The Siskel and Ebert clip starts at 4:16 into it. I can't jump to any other time, either before or after or the player hangs. Same with the award show presentation (disc 2: page 2) - it starts in the middle when they're all up on the stage and then plays just a little before freezing up the player. I have to hit stop numerous times to get it free before I can play the disc again. So, is it the disc or my player? I'm assuming it's my player as there would be a bunch more upset people on this forum were it the other way around. If it IS my player, what do you all think about the Sony DVP-NC655P? ![]() |

volume
Yeah, I actually saw that one. It deals pretty much only with the weird volume levels. The menus are a heck of a lot louder than the content.
That I can deal with though. What I'm worried about, and what that thread didn't mention, was the odd start positions and freezing up that I experienced. Anyways, give your copy a run through, and see if Siskel and Ebert and the award presentation is messed up for you too. If not, I'll just wait for my new player to come in. If it is messed up the same way, I'll have to call Buena Vista back. They're still in to me for a messed up trivia track on Jackie Brown. ![]() Thanks! -m13b |

I am still working my way through the text supplements on disc two, but I have watched all the video content on that disc and no problems. So I suspect this may be a player issue.

Coming in on this one a bit late, but figured it was worth mentioning that I had a similar problem. The Siskel & Ebert segment was filled with glitches. I removed the disc from my DVD player and noticed it was in terrible shape.
By terrible shape, I don't mean scratched. It was full of blotches that appeared to be 'in' the disc itself. Sort of what I imagine 'DVD rot' looks like. I returned it to the store from which I bought it and was given a new one. This one seems to be fine. |
