Varsity Blues - Subtitles

Does anyone know if the DVD version of Varisty Blues has subtitles. On the box cover, it said none, but on my RCA 5220P, it said it had french subtitles. But none came up on screen. I would think the DVD would be accurate. Please let me know if that's is true or not, in other words, does it have any subtitles whatsoever.

Thanks....

Oberon2001,

Varsity Blues doesn't have any subtitles at all. But it does have a 2.0 French track.

When you said ''it said it had french subtitles'' do you think you might have been confusing the subtitles display with the sound display? I think this is probably what happened.

A random display should show something like this:

Title: 1 (3)
Chapter: 1 (17)
Subtitle: None (0)
Audio: English (3)

Angle: 1 (2)

The first number would be which one is active, the number in parenthesis would be how many are available (if applicable) on the disc.

So load up your Varisty Blues and go to the display menu. If the susbtiles says (O) then there's your answer. If there is a number there, try your subtitle "change" button. Sometimes there is a "on/off" button for subtitles that needs to be hit first.

I think on your disc you'll find (0) for subtitles and (3) for languages.

Thanks Flash,

I got the info on other websites, and I was confirmed that there no subititles. My RCA5220P DVD player has an info bar, when I access the info, a red menu bar flashes above, I go the subtitles icon, and for some reason, maybe it is the default, it shows the following: Subtitles 1: French. But anyhoo, I'm not worried about, it does not affect the disc at all. The movie played fine, and I was very pleased with the video and audio on the movie. A must see movie.
