Miller's Crossing: No music in center channel?

It's probably just how the disc was authored (although I hope not), but my copy of Miller's Crossing has absolutely no musical activity in the center channel, and most of the music (and many of the sound effects) are confined to the left speaker. I checked my wires, and everything's hooked up correctly, and I sampled the French and Spanish language tracks, both of which have the music in the center channel! I'm watching on a Cyber Home 402 player.

I had a similiar event happen to me with Peter Gabriels live version. I returned it. Unfortunately, I think that if that is how they are stamped they will all be like that but I would try one more copy if it is a must have movie for you. Good luck

Miller's Crossing

Is anyone else experiencing a lack of dialogue on the Miller's Crossing dvd?

I get music and sfx only.
Dialogue only happens on the foreign language tracks.

I am using a 2.1 stereo set-up.

HELP!!

Miller's Crossing lack of sound...

I think the reason for the lack of centre sound is the fact that it's processed in 4.1 Digital surround. Other titles from fox have 4.1 like, ALIEN NATION and THE NATURAL.
To tell you the truth I never noticed the lack of centre. I'll check to see but I think the above is the reason why, 4.1, 2 front, 2 back and 1 sub.

Update.

Okay, I returned the disc today and exchanged it for another copy (opened it to make sure it had cover artwork, which the first one did not), and the music is there in the center channel (thank goodness). I guess I just must have gotten a bum copy.
