Final Destination 2 problems

I have a Sony DVP-S560D

It starts breaking up during the infinifilm logo, then plays perfectly until the credits, where the picture locks up. I then tried to check the special features where half the time the highlight would disappear.

It worked fine on my computer until I tried the trailers where it would completely lock up. Ugh.

I bought it blind at Sam's Club and I am assuming at this point that they just got a bad batch.

Anyone?

Rented my copy from Netflix, and watched it this weekend with no problems on my Sony DVP-9000. I watched the entire movie, deleted scenes, and all three trailers glitch free.

Im sure the glitch is in ignoboy's and my player. There is a class action lawsuit against sony on certain DVP model dvd players.

Mine locks up arount the 13th chapter in the hospital scenes. I returned it & the new one does the exact same thing. I've never had a problem like this before with any other discs. Anyone know anything about this?

Do you have a sony dvd player newt? Does the model number begin with DVP?

Check out the link if it does.

Just finished watching FD2 on a Sony DVP player, no glitches whatsoever. Slight pause on layer change, that was about it.

Also watched the 3 trailers on the disk. No problems there either. I watched the whole movie in regular mode and now am about 30 minutes into the infinifilm mode, still no glitches.

A quote from the legal site above: "Sony DVD Players (DVPs), including, but not limited to models S330, S360, S530D, S550D, S560D, S570D"

I used a Sony DVP S500D to play this disk. None of my other Sony players are "S" models.

Good luck to those of you with affected players.

Thanks for the info everyone.

I neglected to mention that a year ago my player completely stopped working (almost two years old at that point and after considerable use) and I had to send it back to Circuit City to get fixed. I've had issues with some discs (mostly anime) but this is the biggest problem so far.

I might be due for a new player. I am used to the set-up Sony uses and since this is the only flaw that I've had so far I'm thinking about getting another. This may be a bad idea, yet...
