Casablanca 60th Anniversary SE

I have a Philips Magnavox dvd835. At the 54:03 mark it appears to be a layer change but just as the pause ends & it goes from Strasser to Renault there is a lightning fast picture flip. Not really SO noticeable that I would have to trade it in at CC for another copy but I'm wondering if this appears for anyone else.

What do you mean by "picture flip"? Is it a scene change, perhaps? I haven't seen this movie (believe it or not) so I'm just guessing.

Or does the video actually flip to an "upside down" frame and then back again?

Peace...

I'm almost positive it's the layer change. It occurs as the camera shifts from one character to another sitting at a desk being interrogated. It's kinda like a vhs tape flip except instead of going up down it flips sideways. Not a scene change. It happens really fast. You could miss it with a blink.

ps Tom, you seriously have to see Casablanca. I'm watching it right now with the phenomenal Roger Ebert commentary.

The pause definitely sounds like a layer change. I just thought you were seeing some very strange "mis-behavior" after the layer change.

Does the scene where the layer change occur happen to be during a camera "pan" from one person to the other?

Yeah, I think it's already in my never-shrinking Netflix queue. If not, I'll add it.

Peace....

Don't just add it to your Netflix queue, tomdkat. Add it and move it to the top of the list. You won't regret it.

No problems here with my Casablanca 60th Anniversary DVD.
