Ttt Ee

The first viewing went fine as far as I could tell. My brother was watching it with me so there was a slight distraction due to his questions.

However, watching it the second time with Cast commentary the scene of the Gollum/ Smeagol monologue the picture split in half horizontally, the top sliding to the right and bottom sliding to the left, just for a split second. When I rewound the scene and watched again it didn't happen.

Is there such thing as particle burn off or something like that? Where the laser comes in contact with dust or dirt causing a temporary "glitch". I can't think of any other way to explain why it only happened once.

thanks.

also, are there any KNOWN glithces for TTT EE out there?

That sounds like the disc had dust or lint on it or something. I'm not sure if it was "burn-off" as much as the dust simply getting blown away. Who knows...

Peace...

As far as I know there are no glitches. Both feature discs played flawlessly on my Panasonic R26 and Sony Playstation 2. I've yet to watch the other two discs

Do you mean the Panasonic DVD-RP56 or the RV-26? (I think the RV-26 was the model... )

I think he means the RV-62, which is the progressive scan version of the RV-32, which is what I have.

General rule is, if you can't repeat the problem on your disc, it's most likely a dust particle or piece of lint that got it the way temporarily.

If you can repeat the problem, especially on different DVD players, then that's a sign that the disc is faulty.

The model I own is the Panasonic RV-26. Sorry for the confusion!

Thanks. My DVD player is Pioneer 563A. I tried it on my computer's drive and it played fine.

Yeah, because the dust probably isn't there anymore. I know my Pioneer DVL-919 is rather sensitive to dust and lint but my DV-656a is a bit more resilient but not 100% perfect, in that regard. I wouldn't be concerned unless you see the SAME mis-behavior happening consistently.

Peace...
