Casablanca 2 Disc Aspect Ratio Help!

When popping the 2-disc Warner Region 1 "Casablanca"
into my PC DVD player, first the menu came up
Anamorphic, which was perfectly good.

But when I played the movie,
It was severely windowboxed.
[I am playing it on Intervideo WIN DVD 4]

Although it kept the 1.33:1 ratio,
there was about 2 inches of black space on all 4 sides,
and this is on a 16 inch monitor.

When trying any special feature, including trailers and "Carrotblanca",
same windowboxing effect with about 2 inches of blackness.

The menus are perfect and go to both sides of the screen
[since it's anamorphic, top and bottom are black]

When I tried to play it on a standalone DVD player,
it worked perfectly fine with absolutely no windowboxing.

I tried with another Warner 2-disc Fullscreen, "Citizen Kane",
and that played fine, menus, features, and movie
had no windowboxing at all, filling up the entire screen on the PC

anyone know why the "Casablanca" disc is doing this?

i dont know what it was,
but today it seems to play perfectly fine.
indeed a strange glitch it was.
