What kind of scratches does a DVD have to have....

....for the DVD to not play 100% correctly?

In other words, what kinds of scratches/rubs/dents are acceptable on a DVD and they will still run 100% fine? And what kinds of scratches/rubs/dents do they have to have for them to start working not 100%?

Is there some kind of picture diagram on some some web site that shows the kinds of scratches that will cause a DVD to run anything less than 100%?

Thanks for your help everyone!

It usually depends on the dvd players error correction process. Some players are better than others but usually most dvd players will read thru light scratches without even a glitch. It's the big scratches you usually have to worry about.I've got some disc with light scratches that are 100% glitch free.
