Billy Madison Special Edition misframed?

Comparing the transfers of the first Billy Madison DVD and the SE, it is clear that some scenes of the Special Edition are zoomed in. The most obvious case of this is the first scene. Check it out.

okay, checked it out. appears that its not really zoomed in (it is a bit, but not enough to lose pic info), but rather the framing is a bit different, it seems they are vertically framed different:

copy and paste URLs into browser address line

Billy Madision (Original Edition)

Billy Madison (Special Edition)

New version looks a ton better tho

yes the new version looks alot better, but you lose very little picture, it seems zoomed in, but look at the right side of the old, and then switch right to the new, the under scan is gone and a little info is gone, under 2% so fuck it, i think that the increased picture quailty more than make up for a few pixels that are missing

The biggest change is that the matte appears to been moved vertically upwards in the new version. i.e. look at the sky and the bottom of the fountain on the two images that are both taken at the same spot in the movie.

if you look at the tree in the very top, just to the left of the water, it does not appear to move, while the fountain moves a fair bit.

After playing around with it I think it is a combination of some minor zooming plus the matte being moved up vertically. This makes the tree look bigger, and the fountain moved. If you notice, the top of the fountain water is cut off in the "old" version while you can see the top of the fountain in the "new" version. Also, all of the trees appear to move a bit, but since they are bigger due to the zoom in the new version its not as noticable as the change in the fountain.

Nope, I haven't been there and I usually don't poke my head in there since I'm not really a gamer. I figured the DD vs dts animosity between you two applied to things other than DD vs dts, but that's an invalid assumption on my part.

Peace...
