Scissor Sisters DVD problems

Recently bought US pressing of Scissor Sisters: We Are Scissor Sisters And So Are You DVD (I believe it is All Region). Supplementary features are OK, but the main concert recorded at the Brighton Dome pixelates like mad during pretty much the whole show. Notice it especially when strobe lights are going, or when crowd taking pictures with flash. It seems to be that DVD is poorly mastered considering I've never had issues of this kind with other DVDs using my 1st-gen Yamaha DVD player. I wanted to see if anyone else has had these issues with this DVD, and if I should possibly seek a replacement copy. Thanks

IF it was shot on DV on a low budget that's probably the master tape

Strobe lights and flashes do bad things with MPEG2, because they're fast extreme changes in the image

Thanks SoW for your reply. I believe much of the show was filmed on DV, so what you say sounds reasonable. I just can't believe they would release a DVD shot this poorly, though it was like $10. Any owners of this DVD notice similar issues?
