Return of the Jedi - Set-up Disc???

I finally got around to opening the Star Wars Trilogy WS set I got for Christmas. The orange border says "SET-UP DISC". Guess I'll be calling Fox Home Video Tuesday.

Have you played the disc? What's on it? It might be worth keeping.

Peace...

I'm confused. You got this instead of the Return of the Jedi DVD?

That's the data side of the disc. The ROTJ disc art is on the other side. It won't play because the disc index info is covered by orange ink on the inner ring.

It's probably the disc they use to calibrate the art printing on the other side.

I bet you could make a pretty penny with that on eBay right now. (And I even think it would be legit, since they mailed it to you.)

Yeah, but Fox wants me to send the whole set back for exchange. I don't want to send them the slipcase/box because the one I have has no dents or creases in it, which I'm sure the one Fox will mail back to me will get beat up in the mail

I suppose I could buy a new set and see what I could get on eBay for this disc.

Careful, man. It sounds like the longer you hold on to that set, pretty soon men in black suits and fedoras are going to come knocking on your door...

Spend the money and buy a new box set. You will then be a unique Star Wars collector.

Peace...

is the disc readable if you put it in a DVD Rom and use a program like DVDshrink on it ?

Well, the Force may have been with me

I went to get my haircut. Then I walk over to a watch store to have the battery and waterproof gasket replaced on my watch. Then I saunter over to Tower. The guys there were taking down some sales signs and repricing the DVDs that were on sale. I look around for the Star Wars Trilogy and finally find two WS copies and one FS copy. There's a sales price tag on it for $19.99. I do a double take looking more closely. Yep $19.99. Still thinking it's a mistake I look at the other copies. Yep $19.99. So I spend ten minutes examining the two WS copies to see which one has the box in the best shape, and head over to the register.

The girl at the register goes "Wow! $19.99," showing to the other clerk, "who even knew. I'll have to get one." I tell her there was only one WS copy left and she better snap it up if she wants it. As I was leaving she was heading over to the DVD section.

Yup. I didn't post on the bargain section because I don't know if this was chain wide or how long the price was good for.
