Dune (Ext. edition – Jan 31 release)
I had a problem with theatrical cut freezing at 114.04 min (layer change?) and disc stopping completely.
Extended cut worked fine, but when I think back I remember more than one layer change (which is of course impossible) – meaning that it is not peachy either. DigitalBits reported that there is a problem with some of the discs. Here are some disc identifiers (markings on the inner edge of the disc) Two concentric circles Outer one: MTD 2136-1-A (274032) 21242 R1 01 MISI Made in Mexico Inner: MTD2136-0-A (274031) 21242 R1 02 MI56 I am going to exchange it and see if I'll have better luck ![]()

My theatrical cut played fine, haven't checked the extended yet. I have the same disc identifiers as you. But with any of these Universal dvd-18 discs I always hold my breath until I've watched them all the way through. They have major issues with the bonding that Universal doesn't seem to want to acknowledge. I just had to exchange my L&O: SVU season two disc for the same issues. I remember I must have gone through about five copies of Casino before I got one that played properly. I'm all for trying to save space, but not at the cost of the hassle of dealing with defective discs. I've now had five Universal dvd-18 titles I've had this problem with.
