Pan's Labyrinth DTS

Has anybody else had trouble accessing the DTS mix for Pan's Labyrinth (2-disc Region 1 edition)? It doesn't really matter because I don't have a super-fancy home theater setup or anything, but I have been able to access DTS tracks in the past. So it's really odd, but when I select the DTS track on the Pan's Labyrinth setup menu, I end up with Del Toro's commentary track instead. When I switch back to Dolby, it plays fine, and the disc is not otherwise defective -- the movie plays great. Hmm.

Maybe it's because you don't have a receiver that can decode DTS...?

I would think that, except that I've played DTS tracks before on other discs. It's not a tremendous issue since I can't tell the difference between it and Dolby anyway with the sound setup that I have, but if I can play DTS on something like The Hunchback of Notre Dame or Pirates of the Caribbean, shouldn't Pan's work too? It's annoying me more on principle than anything else.

you're not getting the actual DTS track without a decoder.

I don't have an answer for you, but usually you can get better results if you post the make/model of your DVD player and receiver, as well as how you have the DVD players audio output set up and the connections used. The more you let us know, the easier it is to help.

I'm not sure what kind of sound setup we have; it's whatever my parents installed years ago, and it's nothing state-of-the-art. Which is why it surprises me I was able to access DTS tracks on the other titles at all. I wonder if the discs just automatically play the Dolby track when I select DTS because of no decoder?
