The LFE issues have to do with the receiver (at least mine does). Other than that, the Sharp does everything but DTS-HD/MA. As for the lockup issues, I've only had that for the Spider-Man films and I'm starting to wonder if it's an HDMI-DVI issue, which, if you don't have to use DVI like me, shouldn't present a problem. I've not tested a Samsung, though, so I can't compare any further.

It seems the TrueHD Spider-Man issues were a fluke. I let each film play all the way through and the player didn't lock up once.
Regardless, I'm keeping the player. ![]()

Well, I played with the settings a bit and I couldn't get it to a satisfactory setting for me. The problem may lie in the AVR as well. At last attempt I tried to calibrate the speakers using the analog outs. Even bumping up the sub to it's max (+6db) within the player and turning down the remaining speakers (-6db) it still fell short on the SPL meter. I can't not make further adjustments within the AVR for the direct inputs.
Using the DD track it still sounds great. I did notice that the lossless was a little less "muddled", but I did have to turn it up 5-7 db from my using setting on the AVR to match the volume of the DD track. If the lask of bass wasn't there it would be pretty sweet. I probably do not have the latest firmware for the player though. I haven't updated it (no flash drive). I don't know if the new firmware does anything for the bass management, but maybe?

Yeah, there may have been firmware issues with the player on the LFE levels.
