If they use the new MS/Broadcom design they should be significantly faster since it will be SoC instead of a general computer design.

If it's faster and processes the 1080p correctly, I'll be all over that A35.

What PH said. If they use the new chips and pass along the native 1080p from the disc, I'll be all over the A35. Looks like new HD-DVD and BD players for Dugpa this holiday season.

A35 also has lossless 7.1 via HDMI, which I know some were waiting for (even though I think its useless )

Toshiba really is HD DVD like JVC was really D-Theater & look were that got 'em.

The player does look sassy though.

JVC was doomed from the start by using a tape-based format, which people (including myself) saw as outdated right off the bat because it was not on disc. HD DVD does not suffer from this problem.

Good question, Derb! Anyone?

On a side note, I think I will stick with hd-a2 for awhile...or forever, if hd-dvd dies out. But the hd-a35 does look very nice.
