I was seriously close to buying a PS3 today...but I didn't.

I wish I had a freakin' HDMI receiver.

Added. That's a nice looking player.

Do we have any specs or dates on the new Sony models?

The Sony BDP-S500 seems to be a higher end model to replace the S1.

But will the S500 decode the DTS-MA?

I'd like to buy a BD player that'll last more than a month.

It'll pass DTS-HD and TrueHD via HDMI as bitstream, no idea about MA.

From the limited ammount of information, it looks like the $2K Denon will be the only one that does that. Are there any BD players that can even pass dts HD-MA?

And, pirate, are you willing to upgrade your receiver to accept?

Has there been any mention of the street dates for the new sammy's? I think the 1400 was suppose to be out this month and the 2400 next month. The only difference between these two players is the REON chip, right?

I wonder if sony/BD will extend the 5 free title offer and include the new players.
