That link doesn't work for me. Why aren't you using the avsforum.com domain?

Denon delays Profile 1.1 Blu-ray player till 2008
Denon’s widely reported Profile 1.1 Blu-ray player is unlikely to launch (certainly in Europe) until Q2 2008. Consequently, it’s unlikely now to be the first profile 1.1 Blu-ray deck to market. So says Denon UK’s Roger Batchelor, who also confirms that the brand’s advanced AVP-A1HD and POA-A1HD pre-power combo have also been delayed. The POA-A1HD is a THX Ultra2 certified 10-channel power amplifier designed to match the AVP-A1HD THX Ultra2 A1HD pre amplifier. The pair was first unveiled at the Munich High-End show, back in May. The A1HD is DLNA (Digital network Living Alliance) compatible, able to access and stream media from PCs or DNLA devices on a home network. It’s also equipped with the latest Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoders.
Marketing manager for product planning and marketing, Jun Igarashi, says that the company intends to allow its customers to access to whatever media they have, wherever it is.
P.S. I like AVS's new look.

Well that totally blows. Even though I wasn't planning on getting Denon's Blu-ray player, I was definitely planning on getting the AVP-A1HD pre/pro. Bummer, I was really REALLY looking forward to getting it this year. I just have to wait a wee bit longer now that's all. Oh well.

Maybe then a few other pre/pros will be out. I am interested in what Outlaw can do, as well as Rotel. Till the whole HDMI thing, I REALY wanted a rotel RSP-1068

Yes, Outlaw and Rotel, two companies that make some great sounding products.

You're right, it's very likely that there will be a few more pre/pro choices between now and when the Denon finally makes its debut. I know that Theta is coming out with a fixed architecture product called "Valis" which is supposed to retail for $7,000. This is a lot more affordable than their Casablanca III which is around $14,000- $17,000.
And Classe' is coming out with one (SSP-900) that will replace the company's current flagship model (SSP-600). But the thing is that it will retail for a whopping $20,000!

But as nice as the pre/pro's mentioned above will be (for $20k that Classe' SSP-900 had better be really really REALLY nice). But even the Classe' will not offer everything that the Denon will have. No Wi-Fi streaming, no Audyssey, no Terranex HQV Realta processing, no 6 HDMI 1.3 inputs. etc.

So for everything that the Denon will have, It's going to be the one to beat. I don't mind waiting until around April/May '08 for the Denon, but I hope it retails for $7 grand and not too much more. At the $7k price point, Denon may very well reach AVphiles who may normally have looked into the likes of Theta, Classe', Lexicon, Meridian, etc. I think Denon is going to have a great new product with their AVP-A1HD.

Well that's a bummer, as I was ready to buy it this fall. But maybe they'll delay it to add sacd and dvd-audio support, since everyone at AVS has been bitching about the lack of it. Or update to profile 2.0. Either way, I'd rather they wait and get it right, so I won't complain about the delay.

Why is it being delayed? Maybe Denon should have gone with a HD DVD player instead.

Peace...
