Panasonic 42" Plasma TH-42PX75U

My Dad is thinking about purchasing it. Does anyone have this TV or have any opinion? He's thinking about spending about $1100 on a flat panel 42" plasma and he pointed out this one.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Well, CNet gave it a great review, with an 8.9 of 10 rating. One thing I don't understand, is how a 16:9 tv can have a 1024X768 native resolution. It seems that the pixles are stretched to make that I understand they are selling QUITE well where I work ( my boss bought the 58" Panny and loves it ) so, anicdotal evidence is positive.

Don't have it, but I've read numerous good things about it. One of the best bang-for-your-buck TVs in that price range. I've read to stay away from the cheaper brands like Maxent, Vizio, Westinghouse.

I considered getting the Panasonic when I bought my plasma 9 months ago. Only reason I didn't get it was that it was out of stock.

I can't speak to this TV specifically, but I have had two panasonics, one an HD Tube that I had very good luck with. Still own it and its upstairs in my office. I don't think you could go wrong with this TV.
