where are they in the channel list? Did they add them to the existing string of HD channels in the 70's, or is it the regular channel converted using those B-Band devices on the back of my box?

So, I should go to channel 212 for the NFL Network, and my hardware will know which signal to accept.

So, far I think all the channels have looked great. I am not watching it with a critical eye.

Searching for satellite signal I'm on the phone with DTV now to see if there is anything I can do.

And I'm stuck with Charter cable that adds like 4 channels a year. I need to cut down my neighbors tree so I can switch back to DirecTV.

same as their SD counterparts, so NFL HD is at 212, TBS HD 247 etc, simply change your favorites list

2 of each channel number one SD one HD

Well, it looks like I am not picking up one of the new Satellites, 100 Got a service call scheduled for Saturday.

j

PS, of the channels I CAN pick up, I'm watching ( and recording for later ) Tiger Tales on Smithsonian HD. It's VERY nice. I'm quite happy so far. Now I just need to get the last bird caught, and find an ATSC modulator so I can capture to my HTPC and archive for posterity.

Sometimes I ponder the idea, maybe something could satisfy dugpa's tastes? Guess not.

As much as I nitpick hd-dvd and blu-ray, I have yet to see a disc that looks as bad as cable or satellite broadcasts. I'm thinking about trying out FiOS, which claims to have more bandwidth and thus little compression. We'll see.

Well, the DTV guy wasn't able to find the missing satellite, so they are supposed to replace my new dish with an even newer one Anyway, I checked out some of the new HD Channels that I could pick up, and am happy with them so far.

I have FIOS internet through Verizon where I live and they finally released FiOS TV. I haven't had a chance to take a look at it to see if i want to switch.

I don't know what the deal is with the FSN channels. I've had a FSN channel (midwest) in my HD line-up the whole 2+ years now that I've had Charter HD service, and it wasn't until recently that I've seen any programming. The SD Fox Sports Midwest channel runs continous programming, but the HD channel is hit or miss.

FSN rarely uses their HD channel. Only a few Angels games appeared appeared in HD, the rest were on regular old FSN.

If you get the MoJo channel, you might want to look for your locak FSN teams there. They played just about every Mariner's home game from the FSN HD feed here in Portland. (I suppose that might have just been the local Comcast guys porting it over.. I don't know. But it was sure nice to have those games in HD.)

Huh, so Mojo played all the games in HD? I have never hear of that channel so I am pretty sure I don't get it, but I will look into it. Atleast I had the game on regular FSN and didn't have to watch anything on Versus.

So how do the channels look? Is there any programming in HD yet? Is everything in stretch-o-vision?

You probably do get it actually since it was one of the first HD channels. It used to be called INHD but they changed their name and format at the start of May. Personally I think the channel is nothing but crap now. Though the are showing Taxi Driver this month, so they get points for that at least.

I was just looking into switching back to DirecTV today, but it sure isn't cheap. If it was roughly the same price as cable, I could probably get it past the wife (assuming I can get LOS), but not when it costs more.

I NEED to get the new HD DVR. I've been told that I'll be needing a new dish to get the new channels. When I called DTV and acked, they said my current dish will work. Since they know not of what they speak like 60% of the time, anyone know which is true?

Also, any idea of COmedy Central is going HD? That would put everything i watch in HD.

Which dish do you have? I never wet outside to see the dish they put up, so I don't know what dish I have. Was this dish installed when you moved in? If so, I believe the dishes they have been using for a few months now is the one they installed today.

Any way you could snap a quick pic so I can compair to what I got?
