Format Neutral for HTPC?
Phillip's $199 BD-ROM
So Phillip's is selling a $200 BD-ROM. This could make it interesting for us HTPC users. However, considering the security holes, it still won't fly at my workplace...

Get this instead for $299
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...k=lg%2bblu-ray BD-R, HDDVD-ROM, DVD-R for $100 more. Format neutral PC... That way you can display your HD DVD discs on your PC as well, plus get BD support if you wish. I actually would seriously consider this drive for my PC but I fear what the BD+ trojan DRM could do. So I will stick with my external 360 HD DVD drive hooked up to it instead.

What this tells me is that highdef standalone players should be dropping even further. If LG can make this dual player for $299 and make a profit, they shoudl be able to get a dual standalone player for $500 and make a profit.
