Thats what Black corrector is for.

btw should mention also to turn on power savings mode. That also helps blacks a bit.

Why not just set it accurately to begin with instead of heaping on tons of extra unneeded processing that will likely harm the accuracy of the image more than help?

edit: made my settings a bit more detailed above.

May I ask if there are any differences between Derb's A2020 and the A3000?

Are the discussed settings between Derb and Ruined different because the sets are, well....different?

Just wondering.

Actually just checked my settings & these are current. The sharpness is at 40, not 45. What I am most proud of though is the color calibration. This includes white balance & normal color adjustment. Also note, these are not the same settings as my PSP experiment.

Power Saving - On
Color Matrix - Standard
Custom Picture Mode
Iris - Medium
Picture - 74
Brightness - 54
Color - 41
hue - 0
Color Temp - Warm 2
Sharpness - 40
Noise Reduction - Off

Advanced settings

Black Corrector - Low
Gamma - Off
Clear White - Off
Live Color - Off
White Balance;
RG = -8
GG = -10
BG = -2
RB = -7
GB = -3
BB = -2
Detail Enhancer - High
Edge Enhancement - Off

Got the TV and its hooked up, ran into a couple "small" problems. First, all the connections are on the left side of the tv and my gear is on the right so my HDMI and component cables would not reach. Had to scoot my rack to practically touching my tv in order to watch Ordered a 10ft HDMI cable, so that will help when it comes. Forgot to order a longer component though, grrr.

The other slight problem is playing the game Rock Band. Guess I should post this in the game forum if anyone can help, but here it is anyways. The game scrolls notes down the screen letting you know when to play the instrument. Well, the scrolling of the notes is not smooth like it should be. Sometimes its smooth, but majority of the time it sort of judders like its in slowmo kinda. It did not happen on my JVC, nor my parents A2000, so it seems to be this TV. I tried my NBA game and that is fine. So, I have no idea whats going on but Rock Band is a rhythm game and when the stuff judders it kind of ruins the point of the game Motion Enhancer was turned off. When I set it too high it helped a little bit but not enough. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

So far, have only watched a few scenes of Fifth Element blu-ray and can already notice the difference in PQ Still need to tweek some settings. Will watch some more movies later tonight after I see the finale of Dexter that I missed, HARHAR!

EDIT:
After going one setting at a time, I finally found that judder problem in the Rock band game. It is the CineMotion feature. I turned it off and game worked perfectly. I also went to the scene at the beginning of the movie Layer Cake where it is scrolling past all the FCUK cocaine bottles and I noticed when Cinemotion was turned on the bottles had the judder problem as well. With Cinemotion turned off, the movie was prestine as it should be

What a horrible feature!!!!! Almost made me doubt my purchase!!! All is well now, WOOOOO!!!

I love my new Mitsubishi 57" DLP! It was readily available at Fry's and the price was right. Out the door for only $1517.42! I can not believe how light this thing is compared to a regular T.V. set!! Only 69lbs.

So far I have watched Star Wars Epidsode 3, Finding Nemo and Black Hawk Down Superbit and they all look great with the superbit having an edge over the others. DVD player is the Sony NS77 Upconvert player.

But, I also put in my Akira DVD and the colors where just screaming at me! Yikes! I know that the colors where bright to begin with but now they are jumping out at you. I am going to try and watch Ghost in the Shell next and see what it does. Otherwise, great T.V.

I get my HD cable box tomorrow and my local provider is about to add about 20 more HD channels!

Sweet.

Now you have to find a way not to work, so you can watch TV whenever you're not asleep.

I've noticed many having issues with CineMotion, especially with 1080p30 content. I haven't been able to reproduce any of them yet, though.

That being said, despite Sony's recommendation to use this with film, I can't see much of a difference with it on or off. I might just end up leaving it off too despite what it is supposed to do.

When comparing the image of Sony's new LCDs and Pioneer Plasmas I prefer the Plasma , probably because the blacks look considerably darker . Maybe I could get past the burn in worry if I ever needed a new TV and get a Plasma .

It requires quite a bit of effort to cause plasma burn-in. Nobody should worry about it.
