Very tempting for the A35, but I want to wait for the XA3 to get DTS-MA. Damn tempting...

No HD DVD player supports decoding of DTS-HD, Ruined.

Sure they do, just the up to 1.5mbps core component of it. If it didn't decode DTS-HD at all it would output nothing, which it does not. This is why I listed DTS-HD decoding and not DTS-HDMA decoding.

Well, they basically only decode DTS then.

Not my fault DTS renamed their codec

It is confusing but the bottom line is that the above Toshiba players will read and decode any DTS-HD track, be it DTS-HD, DTS-HD 24/96, or DTS-HDMA; it only decodes the "core" track from them, though, which is basically 768kbps - 1536kbps DTS. So you will get 5.1-6.1 DTS sound no matter what you play, it just won't be lossless DTS if it is a DTS-HDMA track.

Hey Ruined, just wondering, do you know where I can find a cheap XA2? I have an A1 right now and haven't upgraded to the A3 or so because I want my lossless sound (analog outputs, my receiver does not have HDMI). I'm hoping to find something around $200 or so.

I mean, it would cost too much to upgrade my player and upgrade my receiver rather than just get a used XA2 or a new one (hopefully).

XA2 for $200 is likely going to be impossible, as its Reon keeps its resale value high. You'd be more likely to find an A35 for that price used, which also has 5.1 analog output.
