BP-HP20U + Aquos LC-46D64U opinions?

My co worker is looking at this deal for $1700 @ Dell.com. It includes free shipping.

I don't know anything about this BR player or the Aquos. It seems like a good price but wanted to run it by you folks first since he's willing to hold off until I give him the go ahead.

1) The Tv is the size he wants. I might get him to go bigger (52 MAX). He likes the picture of the Aquos based on in store viewing.

2) The player is what? Older model? Buggy? I dunno.

3) Do any of the displays on Amazons sale seem better suited price wise matched with another BR player?

Thanks in advance fellas!

That's the Sharp player. Don't know anything about its quality, but from Sharp it's probably not great.

Sharp BD-HP205 Blu-ray Player

I'll update my thoughts this weekend maybe. I now have the 5.1 analogs hooked up so I can test the uncompressed sound.

Thanks, I just need to know if the price combined for both items is a great deal or if I need to start researching alternative Tv's + BR players for him.

Iggy, I'll have my Sharp review up soon as well. I can say, without much more testing, that the Sharp is not a very good SD-DVD player. So, if your friend is looking for an all-in-one player, the Sharp is not for him. Unless he’s not a videophile . . .
