LCD question
Are lcd tv's immune to burn in? Reason i ask is that I currently have an rptv that i love, but i have been so paranoid about burn in since i got it that often times, i wont watch two 2:35:1 movies back to back to back. I am tired of worrying about burn in and want to get a new set.
I obviously know projuectors are, but I don't want that. Also, what currently is the best model of and brand of lcd tv |

I would say you are worrying too much. Its unlikely that you will get burn in unless the image is never shifting. You wont get burn in from black on the top or bottom because so image is appearing there and since your 2:35:1 frame would always be shifting within its frame, you shouldnt worry. Movies are much less likely to cause this and unless you paused it for 10 hours on the universal logo or left it on ABC for many hours with that ABC logo in the corner.

ok, thanks for that.
I think the wife and I will still pick up a new set and move this to the bedroom. That being said, what is considered right now to be the top model and brand. yeah i figured i was a little paranoid, but with those rptv's I have heard the black bars do cause burn in, due to uneven wear. Like watching standard stuff with the gray bars on the side. Keep in mind, this is one of the big and bulky rptvs from about four years ago |
