My LCD HDTV Making Strange Noises

My LCD HDTV I got 2 monthes ago is make odd noises both on and off, more noticeable when off. Was doing this when I got it. There a few sounds banging poping, cracking sound. There is nothing else wrong with the tv it works great other wise. Is this normal is it just the plastic caseing contracting from the heat as these tv's tend to get hot. Sounds like th noise is commong got both inside and backside of the tv. Any explantions??

Thanks

Make/Model? Where did you get it? Banging/Popping/Cracking sounds are NOT normal for a TV to make, unless you are watching a movie with lots of action in a forest

I would talk to the retailer about servicing the TV

The sound is not comming from the speakers but the unit it's self from the casing of the tv and inside the tv. The Tv is a Vision Quest LVQ-32EF1A
VisionQuest Consumer Electronics - LVQ-32EF1A

That is kind of the point I am trying to make. No, popping and cracking is NOT supposed to come from the TV itself...

Sounds more like a short somewhere in the display, though I'm surprised you don't see if affecting anything. I just ran though a batch of Viewsonic monitors that were making smilar sounds, but the screen brightness was also going all over the place. Turns our there was a bad batch that all had shorts in the LED backlight.
Whatever the problem is, I agree that those sounds are not normal and you should get it looked at while it's still under warranty.

I think I should too I did buy a 3 year extended warranty. This case just seems odd. If it were serious would'ent I see a problem with the picture? For this to happen with no side effects to hard to say if there really is a problem or not.

Maybe, but it's probably best to look into it now than wait for it to die completely, or worse yet, burn your house down. If there's a store new you that has the display, you might start by going and giving theirs a listen to see if you hear the same thing.
