Amazon never updated their listing from when they were delayed. I have Resident Evil on pre-order and the shiping date still shows today, but it obviously isn't going to happen. I think they are just confused. We'd hear something from one of the news sources if they titles were no longer delayed. In the case of Resident Evil 2, there were so many extras on the regular dvd that they'd never fit it all on a single blu-ray disc. I suspect they're going to delay it till BD50 discs are finally working.

Thats the source where I found out about those titles that were being delayed indefinitely being released on the 25th.

Quote:
There are three Blu-ray releases that were missed by the out-of-date list at our normal high def review site, which doesn't seem to realize that Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Kung Fu Hustle, and Legends of the Fall (now available in standard-definition, Superbit, and Blu-ray editions!) are all releasing tomorrow.
Amazon lists Resident Evil: Apocalypse as "Usually ships within 1 to 3 weeks"

On the HD DVD front, Warner has pulled the release date of Good Night & Good Luck which was set to be released August 1st.

The digital bits is now reporting The Interpreter for HD DVD is delayed indefinitely. Will update until I have more confirmation on this.

According to distributor sources, The Interpreter has been pushed back to October 24th

Actually, Training Day, Rumor Has It, and Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang can all be used for HD-DVD/Blu-Ray comparisons once those come out on Blu-Ray.

Peace...

I like the Paramount artwork more than the other studios. They just look classier.

The paramount HD-DVD logo sequence is by far the coolest as well. It shows "the mountain" in SD and then morphs into HD. Very cool.

Thanks for the pics Pirate!!!

The artwork is much more sleek. Wasn't sure if they had changed the elite red cases, now I know.

Look forward to 'em releases.

Added Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift for HD DVD. Will be released on the same day as the previous films.

Possible Friends release date. It is listed on The Look & Sound of Perfect website as an HD DVD release. Which season? Well on November 14, 2006 Warner will be re-releasing the complete series on standard dvd.

Added Reservoir Dogs for Blu-Ray.

Street - October 24th

It means:

"That 'beyond' just a high definition film, we’ve crammed revolutionary extras on to the disc as well. Unfortunately, our crappy encoding methods mean the 'beyond' content cause the high definition to look like ass.”

That was too much to put on the cover though.

and considering none of the titles even have extras beyond commentaries and a few featurettes...

I also think they are just knocking HD-DVD with that slogan... I am beginnig to think that Sony and Bose both have the same people working in their PR departments...

The funny thing is that Blu-ray is likely the superior format, Sony is just being absolutely retarded about everything they are doing.

Derb,

Quote:
Adding another three titles to its growing HD DVD library, Warner Home Video will release 'Good Night, and Good Luck, Caddyshack and The Searchers' on August 22.

All three titles will be presented in 1.78:1 widescreen and 1080p video, and include Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 surround tracks (except 'The Searchers,' which will be available in its original 1.0 mono only).

Each title will also come with the same supplemental content as their standard DVD counterparts, though no exclusive HD bonus materials will be added.

Warner has set a suggested $28.99 list price for each title except 'Good Night, and Good Luck,' which will be another HD DVD/DVD combo disc with a retail price of $39.95.

Ok, updated the release of Ray for HD DVD which is due out tomorrow.

I found through various sites that the release is accurate. Though, the main one I visit is highdefdigest, you may note they also have National Lampoon's Animal House & Unleased on slate for an August 8th release.

If done right, though... track record would say it will just be a rehash of the 1997 transfer which was repeated for the superbit.

It is funny that right now a title on Bluray just leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

And who the hell came up with the Professionals???? I have never even heard of this movie. Keep it up Sony, the sooner you fail, the sooner HD-DVD can get the studio support it needs.

Is it me or do none of the films on Bluray hold any interest... the only one I would be looking forward to is Black Hawk Down. However, I would hope they would release it with the extended cut available via seemless branching. I just do not think any of these titles looked good on SD-DVD and likely will not look good on BD especially with MPEG2

Amazon just shipped Ray to me! With free two day shipping and the %10 discount, I'm getting it for $17.99 on Wednesday! Unleashed was on the same order, and has not yet shipped though.

Strange, I've NEVER had Amazon ship anything early, let alone an HD-DVD. I thought I'd be lucky if it even shipped by Wednesday

So it is... stupid Amazon. Might be just as well, 4 HD-DVDs on one day is a little expensive for me.

EDIT: BestBuy.com does as well, guess it's simply delayed.
