The only BR titles so far that interests me are:

Gattaca
Black Hawk Down

However, BR has some big guns like Spider-Man, Pirates, X-Men, etc. that will make it hard for us HD-DVD folks.

If they announce Leon for BR...I will cry.

I originally got the release date for 3 Universal August 15th dates from this forum. This was before HDBlog had releases with quick links. So I was confused that Ray was going to be released tomorrow. All 3 were annouced as August 15th dates. Anywhoo, I have the 3 releases grouped as 1 pre-order, so I'll have to wait for Ray. No biggie.

The second wave of Paramount titles I got shipped the day before release. Thats the first time Amazon has sent me HD DVD early. My guess is, they have had all 10 Paramount titles sinse July 25th.

Magnolia Films is HDnet and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban's film division. ALl of these films have been playing on HDnet Movies for a while. All have excellent production values and picture quality. Mr. Cuban knows how to present a great image. Also, The War Within was shot on HD, not film, so it should be an excellent presentation on disc.

Thanks for the info!

Another Tyrese Gibson flick (Waist Deep) Notice a trend with HD releases.. With only 40+ flicks, a lot of releases have more than one flick with the same actor ala Denzel Washington, Matt Damon, Mark Walberg etc.

The Waist Deep case looks to be flat-spined as well.

Robocop for BD is removed from the list. The title got pulled because it sucks! No, it got pulled because MGM no longer has the distribution rights.

Black Hawk Down & Sense & Sensibility have been removed from the list.

Sony has no new street date for these 2 yet.

Specs for the Universal titles are here. Hopefully, we will truly be seeing a large shift towards Dolby TrueHD and non-combo discs.

I'd be interested on how Spartacus holds up PQ wise during its 197 minute run.

How about just a link to DVDAnswers where we can view the covers if we wish rather than posting every single one in this thread?

Three Reasons:

1. Sometimes we have to go to several sites to get all the covers. DVDActive doesn't always have them all.

2. It’s fun and convenient to have one thread with all the upcoming releases info (including covers).

3. Why should we be sending traffic to these other sites? What have they ever done for us? Huh?! That’s right! Nothing!

I suppose. I just think it sucks to have to wait for all the pictures to load just to get to the most recent new post (when using that link).

I've got a request to make. As this list gets longer, it might be worthwhile to know which studio is releasing any given title on either HD format. Could you list the studio next to the title, Derb?

Peace...

That might be too much for me to handle.

Yeah ok, why not.

I will also delete my pics above because I somewhat agree, pics take awhile to load up each page. + Pirate included the spines.
