HD-DVD/Blu-Ray Cover Art

A wise man suggested that we not put the covers in the HD Titles thread because they do slow the loading down.

With that in mind, I have created this thread where we can dump all the beauteous cover images for both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. This will also be more practical because the covers often come before the official announcement of the discs.

Good idea, if I do say so myself. Though, I don't know how "wise" I am.

I like posting cover art in the main thread, I always post the small versions...

Who's loads slowly? They need to get new service and maybe a new computer...

It's not that the pictures load slowly, it's just that the link to jump to the first new post doesn't weem to work very well when there are lot's of pictures in the thread.

I live by the links that jump you to the first new post in a thread.

Full Metal Jacket is now 1.78:1 eh? I thought 1.66:1 could be 16:9?

HD is native 16:9 which means 1.78:1

So I'm thinkin' any content lower than that aspect will be reformatted to 16x9, including 1.33:1 4:3 content.

Derb, Can you see this image?

DVDtown and DVDactive does not allow linking. So the image above should appear as a red X.

I cannot see any of the images.

Can I just say that to me the Blu-ray case really distracts from the cover art. I think darker colors are the superior choice. Maybe Blu-ray should change the black bars on 2.35:1 movies to the blue color as well. At this point it almost sounds like something Sony would do.

Yes, but they could use black bars easily to maintain the 1.66:1 aspect ratio.

If you come across covers and manroom doesn't have it (DavisDVD works as well), email them to me and when I log on, I'll host and post them.
