yes, 11 out of 10. That luscious 3Dpop, mmm mmm mmm colors, ultra detail that I didn't know my proj could produce. and this was only in 1080i. 1080p might kill me. Will Universal ever disappoint us with a transfer?
yes. yes they will.

Sue me, but I am not giving it a 10. I know people are going gah gah over it, but honestly, I didnt see it. The Earth scenes seemed soft and way overly gamma enhanced, the space scenes looked pretty good, but honestly I expected better. Black levels were excellent, but I have seen better from Blu Ray. I am wondering how Transporter 2 and No Country For Old Men can be just about the best looking things I have ever seen on my set up and something from a digital source can disapoint?

The audio in Wall-E was decent with bass giving you a kick in the stomach at just the right places, but the audio seemed somewhat lacking in other scenes.

Maybe its just time for a new projector and receiver.

It could be my shitty player that is giving me inconsistent results... ??

I wasn't really in a WallE mood last weekend. I'll probably watch it on Thanksgiving along with Sleeping Beauty for a little new and old animation festival.

HD Video - 10/10: The closest thing to the IMAX release that we are ever going to get on a home format. There is a slight quality difference on the scenes shot on IMAX but the picture is all together fantastic.

Dolby TrueHD - 10/10:

The whole movie has a very dark look to it, sort of like the entire movie is trapped in a Michael Bay stylistic shot(where bright exteriors are darker and colors are heavily saturated). Having seen it theatrically, I can tell you that is the look of the movie, so it's true to the source. However it does keep it off the showing of your HT list. The audio is superb for the most part.

Technically I only saw the 1st 15 minutes of this, but since few have seen it, and many will only see as much as I saw, I feel I should review it.

Sukiyaki Western Django

Video: 9/10
Audio: 9/10

Netflix to my mind is made for movies like this, something that looks interesting but you probably won't make it through the 1st 20 minutes. Couldn't get around people with thick Japanese accents trying to do old West accents. And with regard to the opening scene; someone needs to tell Quentin Tarentino that he's not as cool as the movies he makes lol.

This is a hard one to gauge. It's grain is in keeping with the look of the show, and is probably largely intended. Still I can't help but feel it could look better. That said it trumps the old DTS 16:9 DVD, gone are the edge halos as thick as my arm, and fine object detail is nicely rendered(finally I can see some detail of the space ship at the end). Audio is also a large improvement, plenty of LFE and the surrounds are occasionally engaged when called for.

Almost Reference audio but couldn't pull the trigger on the mark because of some centre channel difference in a scene or 2. Other then that if you have a good subwoofer at home prepare for a great workout. Oh and the video was also great and represented what i remember seeing in theaters. Great quality demo disc overall.

I'm not surprised, I really wanted to give this Reference Quality but once again WB continues to disappoint in Audio (post HD DVD).

Really excellent presentation, I don't think this movie can look or sound any better.

Aside from a thin layer of grain throughout the movie, this one is nearly flawless. Not to mention Elizabeth Hurley in HD.

I found the switch from 2.40:1 to IMAX to be pretty seamless and breathtaking...but going from IMAX to 2.40:1 is where I became distracted and the astounding clarity of the IMAX footage almost hurts the rest of the film. If anyone knows what I mean..
