Figured I might as well buy the last one to complete the collection, since Amazon has it on sale right now cheap.

No, but when it happens the only thing the PS3 will not be able to do is play HD DVDs.

We got a Blu-ray Disc player a few weeks ago which came with Spider-Man 3, but I've been itching to get some titles of my own. That one belongs to the family as a whole and is not in "my collection" -- which, I suppose, is well enough because I want my first Blu-ray Disc to be something special. The old, non-anamorphic barebones of Cats: Commemerative Edition has that distinction for DVD and while I love the show it feels like I kind of wasted the significance of it being my first title. I don't consider Spider-Man 3 special either because I think the movie was terribly disappointing, so I'm not too upset that it's not my first title either. (I will probably end up getting the Spider-Man trilogy Blu-ray at some point and end up with it, but no sweat in the meantime.)

Therefore, thanks much to Best Buy this week for their sale certian Blu-ray movies for $19.99 a pop. Thanks to a coupon (http://dvd.disneyemailcenter.com/fu...&uid=962c3e3bf6) I was able to get that price down to $14.99 a pop. Further, the Ratatouille standard DVD came with a $10 mail-in rebate for upgrading to the Blu-ray, which makes the upgrade $4.99. I love the movie, and that price is cheaper than I've ever paid for anything on standard DVD either, so I went ahead and bought it. The upgrade was completely painless. I also bought Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which I hadn't gotten yet on standard definition, so it is completely new to my collection.

So those two titles share the distinction of being my first Blu-ray Discs. Good choices, I think.

By the way, the coupon I linked to up there is a printable thing for $5 off any Disney Blu-ray title, expires on Valentine's Day 2008, so if you want anything, use it and use it again. The only limitation is one coupon per title purchased, but I had no problems at all using two coupons in the same transaction (one each for both movies.)

Seems to be the same coupon. Oddly enough the link stoped working after I used it to print my two coupons, not sure why. I found it at another DVD forum at which I occasionally lurk and everyone there was printing it.

I printed two and then it said I had printed the maximum allowed. But I think you can just clear your cookies. And you can always just print from another pc.
I used them along with Best Buy's $19.99 sale to get Pirates at World's End and Ratatouille for $14.99 a piece.

Derb, I'll be looking for your ratings on these, but also could you give a little opinion on whether you liked the movie or not?

Don't have Shoot 'Em Up & War "yet" but do have Resident Evil: Extinction & will watch that one soon.

Audio wise all should sound awesome. "Shoot 'Em Up" I expect to look the best out of the bunch. New Line Cinema is just pimpin out PQ.
