I just got me a Sony PS3 and the first Blu-Ray I've gotten is "Underworld: Evolution".

I also just recently won a 30 Blu-Ray disk lot on Ebay and am eagerly awaiting it

Yeah, it was expensive, but I think it was a good purchase. I haven't gone through all the features just yet, otherwise I would post my review of it.

There is an even bigger HD-DVD lot currently running that I plan on winning

This one will be mine soon also. From what I've read at other sites like avsforum, everyone seems to be quite impressed with the quality of RD, especially for such a low budget, older movie. Everyone has also been impressed with Rambo:First Blood. I don't have Rambo yet, so I can't comment on this one first hand, it's coming from Buy.com, along with X-Men.

Gotta be careful about First Blood. The initial reports claim it's inferior to the HD-DVD(say it looks softer, like over-use of a noise filter), but the BD guys on AVS have been posting round the clock about how great it is in response to that.

Yeah I'll have the PS3 in a few weeks, can't wait to see Reservoir Dogs, everyone raves about the BD transfer and sound.

Derb, have you had a chance to spin Rocky? I sold my dvd set along time ago and want to get at least the first film back into the collection. From what I've read at AVS, not too many think highly of the transfer on this one and are saying to avoid it and wait for the next version.

Not yet, though will give it a spin soon.

Keep in mind it was made in 76 so I'd take AVS members take on this transfer with a grain of salt.. including my own.

Will let ya know. Can't be as bad as my latest purchase.
