I also thought that Talladega Nights looked incredible when I first watched it. And I had HD-DVD for almost 4 months when I got it. As being my first experience with BD everyone who was over at my house to watch it thought it looked incredible. The colors just popped and the picture was rock solid and stable. IT definitely helped that it was one of the first titles I watched on my new TV.

I have seen much better since, but I must say that it is nowhere near as bad as people say. Fifth Element is leagues worse, so is Perfect Storm and Full Metal Jacket. However, as it is a brand new title, it should look perfect.

(woah my first post since Sept 03). :p

I just ordered Full Metal Jacket. I dont get the player until March 23, but need a few titles ready. This is a favourite film of mine, and the price was very sweet so it had to be bought

Its on order and could be 2 - 4 weeks. Sounds like a good blu-ray to get down the track. I want a stash of titles quickly

My Blu Ray buying has been steady the past few weeks. Today I got Rocky Balboa. My Blu Ray discs now outnumber my HD-Dvd discs 13 to 12. The past three BD movies (Rocky Balboa, The Prestige, and Casino Royale) have really made me appreciate the format with amazing picture quality.

I was pretty heavy on hd-dvd discs since the start of the year, but things have picked up blu-ray wise for me. This week I got Big Fish and Finding Neverland, last week Casino Royale.

Nope. I doubt it really matters.

The BD has Dolby & dts audio. Probably 1.5mbps which if so, is fine by me. I watched The Pat Metheny BD & its Mpeg-2ish looked pretty sweet with a VBR around 40.

Yep, I know HD DVD has a lossless track & the BD doesn't for Happy Feet.

edit

Canceled National Geographic: Relentless Enemies.

Damn new car is gonna force me to ditch a lot of BDs. Ahh well.
