That's right. "A Few Good Men" will be on blu-ray in September. I have already made my preorder.

Ugh...Tom Cruise! :flush:

Overrated drek only famous for a single (albeit ordinary) line of dialogue.

I disagree. "A Few Good Men" was a huge hit, and not only because of Cruise. Jack Nicholson had a fantastic performance, and Demi Moore wasn't bad either. Add in Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Southerland, among others. It was a great movie, imo.

I wonder if it will have the 2 extras of the SE DVD.

I don't get why so many BDs lack the supplements of their freakin' DVD counterparts. Shouldn't it be a given? Even with 50GB with AVC encoded transfers, it's not a given...

I mean Wild Things is missing the DVD's commentary, how damn hard is it to include that and make it the definitive release of the film on home video "up to this point"...

It's like Blu-ray: Next Gen Picture, LaserDisc Sound, VHS Extras.

This is very true. Not sure why that's the case. They have the space, so why not use it? It's definitely something that hd-dvd has done tons better than bd. I personally don't spend time on the special features, but dvd was a big hit when it came out because of special features, among other things. I'm guessing that bd-j's slow development has maybe put the crimp on this. But the catalog's get nothing, that's for sure.

You ask any man on the street what AFGM is about and they'll not have a clue. They WILL be able to do that one bit of dialogue though. And Demi Moore? Come on...she was a talentless hanger-on from day one. She only coasted her way into stardom.

Ugh...Tom Cruise! :flush:

Wild Things only has a commentary track on the rated version of the film, the unrated one doesn't have one on dvd either. I assume they decided they didn't want any gaps in the commentary, nor to have to try to retime things.

Can you say double dip

They'll milk us the same way on HD just like they did with SD. As prices come down they'll release the Special Gold Edition. Oh yeah baby they will.

Cause they know that most of us will do it. Those bastards.

Who can honestly say in public right now after knowing all there is to know about TC (that's right...I won't spell his name out, my fingers resist!) that any movie forthcoming is a 'buy'.

Who is so brave and bashable?

I just rinsed my fingers in beer after typing this. Ewwww!

I honestly don't give a shit how crazy Tom Cruise is in real life, he's a decent actor and he's in a lot of great movies. Does the fact he's recently been kind of insane in the press, or portrayed that way in any case, mean his movies we loved suddenly sucked? No... fuck that.

And I know what the movie is about, it's a court trial movie based around the idea of blindly following orders, the backbone of our military, in contrast to personal honor... honor of loyalty versus self honor.

Sorkin writes a great script and Nicholson did an excellent job, as did Cruise... Moore was Moore, I agree, and is only worthwhile naked.

It's a great fucking movie.

Exactamundo! If they provided us with stellar transfers and oodles of extra's the first time around, there would be little money made on the future re- releases.

Even thought this is a good movie, I won't be buying. It's just not one of those movies that I watch over and over.

On the contrary for me, this is one of those movies that if it's on TV, I end up watching it. With commercials...even when I own it. There are a few movies that cause me to do that, and this is one of them.

Never seen it. Demi Moore being in it has always kept me away. Guess I'll give it a rent when it comes out and see if you guys are right or if this is another Troy situation.

Considering how many times it's on TV, this is surprising. But I will let you know that Demi Moore doesn't get nekkid. So don't go in expecting that.

I don't watch movies on tv. I refuse to watch films that are cut up and not in their proper aspect ratio. And I don't find Moore attractive at all, so her not being naked isn't a problem. She has a horse face that creeps me out and makes looking at any other part of her body impossible!

One of the things that bugs me about this era of Gimme More movies is that awful, dyke-ish hairdo.

I like her hair in this flick, and short hair in general... and "dyke-ish" isn's really a nice term by the way... "butch" would be better.

Yes, the word hairdo should never be used in a technically oriented forum.

Yeah, be careful Shawn, it's not worth being suspended for violating forum rules. You provide good input. It has nothing to do with being PC more than it's against forum rules.
