Planet Earth BD ( Buy now or should i wait for the other version being released)

I see on amazon that planet earth is out and another version with a different narration is going to come out? Which is the definite version to get? thanks

Most seem to agree the current BBC version has best narration, though it is personal preference really.

I can recommend the BBC version for sure. I never saw the one on Discovery to see how Sigourney Weaver did.

The one out now is the BBC, and original version.
The Discovery Channel version is dumbed down a bit and edited a little differently "for Americans."
I have only seen the BBC version but it's certainly the version I would recommend.

I've been watching the one narrated by Sigourney Weaver on the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet channel. She does a fine job with it. Haven't watched or heard the BBC version yet.

Compared to each other...yes, the BBC version is better. IMO.

They weren't terrific on the bd version either. But since the blu-ray disc has the protective layer, it didn't scratch like the hd-dvd versions did. The scratches supposedly didn't affect playback, but for those that like flawless discs, it was annoying. I think PH struggled with this one.
