Will Sony's "pure" MGM BDs go OOP soon?

Since MGM shifted to Fox, will the MGM catalog titles released under Sony on BD go out of print "sooner rather than later"?

The only titles that fall under this are The Last Waltz, Species, and The Terminator. Though considering Fox's current BD state, it would suck if Sony's BDs went OOP and these three got stuck in "limbo" for who knows how long...

Also consider if this happened and Fox re-released them, they probably would lack the PCM tracks they have now. Even though The Terminator is edited, a Fox BD re-release hopefully wouldn't be.

Yeah, the tracks would likely be dts-hdma, and that would be fine since technology would have improved to allow decoding for the lossless track. I just don't know if Fox will do as good a job as Sony in the video quality department. Perhaps they will improve in their second rev for bd.

I believe technically all three are out of print, but since the market for blu-ray it still so small it'll be awhile before anyone runs out. But get them before their gone, because who knows when Fox will get around to re-releasing them. I suspect Terminator would be a high priority since it's one of the biggest titles of the MGM catalog. The other two, not so sure.

I still see all 3 of them in stores.

If they do go out of print I need to hurry & re-buy The Terminator.

I bought that disc when Amazon had it for $11.99 & before I even considered Blu-Ray. Long story short the disc plays back fine but I went mid evil on it with knifes, pens, nails etc etc. Think I even through the disc around trying to damage the edges.

They are out of print and once the current supply is gone they are gone till Fox re-releases them.

If it still plays as flawlessly as you claim, why buy a new one? I thought that was the point, to try to mess up the disc as much as possible to show the coating pretects it and allows it to still play?

Being a collector, I want my discs to also look flawless.

The disc worked fine after all that? Does ANYONE else see the irony in this given Derb and his 'curse'?

Not at all. The Sony mothership always allows it's own products to work in the Derb household. It's anything else that has problems.
