I found your title MR.SMITH

HD DVD

Nutty Professor II: The Klumps (2000)

HD Video - 5/10
HD Audio Dolby Digital Plus - 8/10
HD Audio Dolby TrueHD - 9/10

The good news, the dvd had a decent transfer. The bad news, when compared to HD, frame by frame both are identical. My only complaints about the TrueHD track is very little surround + dialog sounds dated.

The worse news, this is the PG-13 version when there was an unrated cut released previously, even better setting you up for a double dip!

Yep, if I was going to double dip, Nutty Professor 2 would be the title to do that on.

Is the video quality really that bad that it's only a 5, or are you rating the film itself in there? I can't imagine a disc from a major studio being that bad.

I don't care if the film is Star Wars or Rumor Has It...

The video upconverted on the Collector's Edition matches this HD DVD perfectly. The first thing I noticed immediately was the opening credits. The text looked edgy & blurry. I didn't think much of this as some older catalog titles have that same look. A good example would be Happy Gilmore. The opening Universal logo looks 780x480 on that disc. On Nutty 2 it looks a whole lot worse & the PQ for the rest of the film looks just as bad. The only upgrade on this disc is audio.
