HQV Benchmark: HD DVD/Blu-ray

Hmmm. I've never heard of this before. Did they make a similar disc for SD DVD?

A poster from DVD review mentioned these & shares his thoughts. I have not bothered with them as I am satisfied with DVE.

Yeah, they make a SD-DVD as well. A lot of AVS folks seem to perfer it over Avia and DVE.

I'm pretty sure the majority of the tests are of the "use your own judgment" type, like "Is the bar aliasing as it moves? How much?"

Seems better for reviewing and/or testing out equipment before you buy. Not so much an outright Avia or DVE replacement.

Yeah, I got that impression as well, not so much as a DVE/Avia replacement. But it sounds like from what PH said above, some do use it this way.

Does anybody own this? Does it have the blue color strip to calibrate the color?

I'd actually be more interested in this as a "demo disc" (ie: this is what jaggies look like. Do you see them in this image? Then do X Y Z to fix it, etc) rather than a DVE replacement, since I think DVE/Avia have that task handled.
