Looks like the delay for this movie wasn't to put a lossless audio track on it.

It's funny how it seems Paramount was going more towards lossless in the time leading up to the HD DVD exclusive deal. Now they seem to be wavering on this being HD DVD-only.

Sure will be nice to have it in HD, though.

You mean about how people are missing out on something (loseless) they dont necessarily want or care about, but should care anyways?

Poor me, ive just got a 250$ yamaha receiver and an A2, and yet even without loseless i feel im enjoying the movie on a top tier level. I must be delusional or just havent seen the light yet.

My parents prefer tv speaker sound over surround lossless.

Actually, I meant ganthc pointing out that a HD-DVD release doesn't have lossless audio. It's a reoccurring theme. Your point is good, too.

Sounds like you are trying to make up for the short-comings in your system by pretending there is no difference. There is a difference and maybe you don't care about that difference, but so what. You can go not care about it and others can still care about it.

Well, that was the compromise I reached with PH. I can comment on a per title basis rather than make blanket statements on hd-dvd titles. And it's sad that they didn't, especially when they seemed so gung-ho about going lossless when blu-ray was still on board.

Yes, and in return, I can no longer squeal like a little girl about the various Pan's Labyrinth releases.

I might actually double dip for this one - especially for the HD.

I don't know about the artwork on the HD case...did they really have to leave it in the HD case with the red border, it ruins the whole affect. Put a sleeve on it or create a unique case for it. Either way would be better.

I haven't seen the DVD or even the film, but this review of the R2 DVD seems to indicate double-dipping isn't a bad idea. Just hope these problems aren;t on the HD DVD...

Are there any HD (or Blu-Ray, for that matter) cases out there that are unique?

not that I can think of, but that means what in the end? Be the first.

Yes, the Transformers case is unique...uniquely hideous. One of the worst cover art displays ever. It was generic looking.

I agree. I think that most of the people who've jumped on board the HD bandwagon are the same ones who are suckers for good packaging. I know that I fit the bill (I'm one of the ones who paid an extra $5 for the Grindhouse Steelbook cases!)

Yeah, looks amazing. I'm hoping Warner puts this out in the UK on BD. I've got the SD version but i'd pick an HD version up in a heartbeat.
